Yesterday was my sister’s (Renee) and my birthday.

First I have to show you what  our 10 year old daughter Kacie made for her teacher for Valentine’s.  She embroidered a tea towel with a bee hive (they are the hornets) with her Teacher’s name and flowers all along the border.  I thought she did an awesome job and from what I hear, her teacher really enjoyed the gift!  Here’s the front and back (had to show the back.. hehehe).

My New Year’s Resolution for 2008 was to not buy a single gift - to make everything that I needed to give.  Of course I didn’t think about this until about 3 minutes before Jan 1st…and what a hard commitment to create so last minute before ringing in the New Year!  I tried my hardest to stick with the plan, not only because it’s really special but because I like to watch my savings account grow.  Honestly I have made about 90% of the gifts that my family has given this …
