Homemade Holidays 2009

So here’s a review of most of the handmade gifts I made for family members this past Christmas.

We’ll start off with the nieces - such fun to make gifts for kids.
Katie loves bows and her mom suggested a bow holder. So I made her one, in her fave colors and personalized with her name.

She seemed to love it!

Then there was little River’s present.  I made her two soft blocks, one is filled with plastic bags and the other has stuffing and bells.  She’s too little for them right now, but …

Meet my little friend…

Last weekend was awesome. I actually had almost a whole day to just play and craft. Those days are few and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Remember how I told you that I was in a Gnome Roam Swap at Craftster?  Well  - in order to roam.. you gotta have a gnome (OMG That sounds so lame - or lame’ haha)  After several hours and finding out I don’t make dolls very well and with the help of a pattern for a Ruby Doll  -  Meet Marrizy:

Kacie wanted to make some plushies. After much debate on what they’d look like and what she’d need, we headed to our local craft supply shop - aka Hobby Lobby. We stocked up on the monster makings below (plus some stuffing and love we had at home).
We cut out odd shapes, added some eyeballs, and started embroidering mouths. Then it was time to put right sides together and sew around the perimeter and finally turn it right side out. They looked pretty flat, so Kacie …
